THE COARSE ACTING SHOW
by Michael Green

Directed by MICHAEL COLLINS

What is a Coarse Acting Show?
Michael Green has written a highly entertaining book entitled ”The Art Of Coarse Acting“ which is an absolute hoot. He defines the Coarse Actor as one who can remember the lines but not the order in which they come. A Coarse Acting Show is full of determined enthusiasm, with a cast quite convinced they are marvellous, “Better than the West End”, Who bravely soldier despite ill fitting costumes, grotesque props hideous makeup with sound effects and lighting which seems to have been devised to completely upstage the actors. Probably the lead man in the previous show has been Demoted to follow spot and is seeking vengeance

Michael Collins has been a stalwart of the group, onstage and on the Committee for many years.  Michael joined Belmont circa 1977 but really moved onstage in 1982 and has rarely been off it since! This is Michael’s 5th direction for Belmont and we are sure his natural sense of timing and comedy will be evident In this show.
